Mamma Mia in Skopelos Island, Greece

It was a January afternoon of 2007, when I received a phone call from the Greek production office of a big Hollywood film. They told me that they were looking for shooting locations on a Greek Island and that they liked my aerial photos of Skiathos and Skopelos, since I have the largest archive of landscape stock photos from the Sporades islands (Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos) including the deserted islands of the national marine park. The film was Mamma Mia!

The experience of being part of the film crew, was nothing less than amazing and it also gave me the opportunity to document the whole filming procedure. I will never forget the first morning  I met Pierce Brosnan at Milia beach, which was the base of the film shooting. It was a rainy  morning around 8am. The first day of  the filming on Skopelos.  He was wearing a  nice hat. ”I said good morning, welcome to Greece”. He shook my hand and said. “Pierce. What’s your name, son?”
