EXOTIC SENSUALITY

BALI, INDONESIA

Bali, the so-called Island of the Gods, is a tropical paradise with a diverse landscape ranging from lush rice fields to rugged coastlines, black sandy beaches and impressive mountains. The above provide an amazing backdrop infused with spirituality and a predominantly Hindu culture, that constitutes an exception in the Muslim dominated country of Indonesia.
I had the great pleasure to visit Bali for Sise & Alex's Bvlgari Resort Bali wedding, but since my trip would last a few more days after the wedding, I thought it would be a great opportunity to organize an editorial bridal session in Bali. The idea behind this bridal session was not only to provide inspiration to brides but also to allow me to go back to my roots in fine art nude photography but in a wedding-themed context.
The session started indoors in a suite that was a true sample of Balinese architectural craftsmanship. Our model first wore a lace robe that hugged her body with ambient light streaming in through the window and illuminating her silhouette.
I am a huge fan of playing with light and shadow and the first part of this editorial bridal session in Bali, which was indoors, gave me the opportunity to use them creatively in the photos. For the second part of the photo session, which was outdoors, I wanted to incorporate the wild beauty of one of Bali’s rocky beaches.
The model wore a romantic Berta dress by the Primalicia Boutique in Athens, while the lace robe was provided by In Love Lingerie in Santorini.
