Kiri and Damien live in Sydney but their Greek origin, love for travel and the breathtaking beauty of Santorini led them to opt for a stunning Santorini Orthodox wedding to celebrate their love. Accompanied by their family and friends, who came from all over the world, Australia, Europe, USA, and after many days of partying before and after the wedding both in Mykonos and Santorini, the big day had come. Wedding planner Manto Theochari of Bliss Weddings & Events Santorini was there the whole time to ensure that everything was perfect!
Damien’s preparation took place in Gold Suites in Imerovigli, which offers an amazing view to Oia
Kiri’s preparation took place in La Maltese Estate. The colour theme of the wedding was all-white to match the bright white colour of the Cyclades as well as to signify the purity of Damien and Kiri’s love. The Grecian-inspired wedding dress, bridesmaids’ dresses and accessories were designed by Kiri’s best friend, Bianca, and added an elegant touch to the wedding.
The ceremony took place at Anastasi church in Imerovigli and was a magical and sentimental ceremony. Everyone was so happy! The traditional music players started playing music, and in a few seconds they were all dancing at the church courtyard. Afterwards I went some beautiful wedding portraits around Imerovigli with the couple.
In the meantime the guests went to the reception venue, La Maltese Estate, and waited for Kiri and Damien to come. White flowers, and hundreds of white candles were decorating the venue; the setting was so romantic! As soon as the couple arrived, the party started. Everyone went to the dance floor and started dancing. Laughs, smiles and joy all around!
One of their beloved friends then dedicated a few songs, and while she sang, we were all enchanted by her charismatic voice. The time of the speeches soon arrived and tears of happiness could be seen on everybody’s faces. Wishes for a happy life full of love and prosperity.
After their delicious dinner, Damien and Kiri had a suprise for their guests. They all knew Kiri was 5 months pregnant, but no one knew the gender of the baby. They all gathered around the wedding cake and started to bet! When the couple cut the cake, the pink color was there to show a little girl is to come! Everyone was thrilled. The party started once again with dancing under the moonlight and the summer Santorinian sky. Traditional greek dancers showed the way and soon everyone was dancing Zorba. The never ending fun was only interrupted by a spectacular 7 minute fireworks show and continued until early in the morning.
