Destination weddings are not only enjoyable, but also a great source for inspiration for a photographer’s eye making them creatively rewarding experiences. Mancy and Arnold’s wedding in Renaissance Phuket was a fantastic opportunity to meet a wonderful couple as well as visit beautiful Thailand.
Although Phuket is arguably Thailand’s most popular tourist destination it still retains unspoilt beaches, such as the Mai Khao Beach where the Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa is located and one can find the ultimate retreat from Phuket’s vibrant nightlife. So what better way to exchange vows of eternal love than a beach wedding in Renaissance Phuket and it’s luxurious beachfront!
I arrived at Phuket the day before the wedding after attending the Fearless Photographers Conference in Bucharest just in time to shoot the couple’s dinner party in which family members and guests were greeted with welcome drinks during a spectacular sunset on this tropical island.
A truly international couple, Mancy and Arnold both live in Hong Kong and work in Dior, but the bride is from France and the groom from the United States. However, since they are originally both from China they felt the need to honor their roots by having a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony to precede their romantic beach ceremony when the couple changed into a Western style wedding outfit. Despite being pregnant at the time, Mancy was stunning in her chic wedding dress and Arnold very stylish in his smart suit.
In Mancy and Arnold wedding I was lucky enough to work once again with the best make-up artist in Thailand, WOW Make Up. Talented Oh is not only a true artist when it comes to bridal hair and make-up but also a wonderful person to work with!
In this wedding in Renaissance Phuket I was also fortunate to work with my good friend wedding photographer Nikos Gogas as well as the Italian film crew of Emotional Movie I had met in Marina and Axel’s wedding in Florence two years ago. It was really great cooperating with Daniele and Daniele again!
I feel so privileged to have been part and documented Mancy and Arnold’s special day and I wish them all the best for the new life together and their baby!
